Karkın & Yüksel Law Firm Launches in London

The founding partners behind Turkey’s former largest law firm, Yuksel Karkin Attorney Partnership, have established Karkin & Yuksel (“K&Y”) in London, offering expert legal counsel from the iconic Gherkin.

With a proven track record advising blue chip clients, Karkin & Yuksel is a full-service law firm that delivers bespoke solutions for a variety of legal needs, working with international law firms, corporates, SME’s and individuals. The firm will practice Turkish law with capabilities to advise on international law, in particular international arbitration and transactions covering multiple jurisdictions.

Cuneyt Yuksel and Murat Karkin, K&Y’s Managing Partners, built Yuksel Karkin Attorney Partnership, established in 2006, into Turkey’s leading independent law firm, serving Turkish and international clients out of both Istanbul and Ankara. From 2010 to 2014, the firm acted as the Turkish arm of DLA Piper. During this period, Cuneyt and Murat were Regional Managing Partners of DLA Piper as well as members of the firm’s Senior Management committee.

In 2017, the company partners relocated to London and built a new law practice. As a major global city and the centre of Europe’s legal market, and the primary base for the firm’s clients, it is the ideal location for the partnership. Following rapid growth, they took up residence in January 2019 at the Gherkin, in the heart of London’s financial and legal district, under the name “Karkın & Yüksel”.

Both partners have received international recognition for their expert legal counsel with their work recognised by Chambers and Partners, the Legal 500 EMEA and the IFLR 1000. They hold significant understanding and experience of working for an international client base and are pleased to bring this expertise to London.
